Like many of our customers, Becktech counts some ex-service personnel in its ranks. In our case it’s the MD, Rob Webb, and Brian Randall, our late Technical Manager (both shown here in their youth!). Rob served as a Captain in the Army’s Intelligence Corps, including on operations in Northern Ireland and with the UN in Bosnia. Brian, meanwhile, served in the RAF. He joined as an apprentice Aircraft Technician in 1971 on a three-year apprenticeship and was posted to RAF Odiham on Wessex and Puma helicopters. Brian served on operational tours to Belize, Northern Ireland and the Falklands plus many deployments as part of Allied Command Europe Mobile Force. After completing 23 years’ service, Brian retired in May 1994 as a Flight Sergeant, before joining Becktech and remaining with us for a further 23 years. Sadly Brian passed away on the 19th January 2018 and is a much missed colleague and friend. Both Rob and Brian are and were proud to have served in the military and equally as proud to serve our valued customers in the vending industry.
